Date Published: September 29, 2014 Document Type: CEE In-person Meeting Materials, Presentation
Facilitator: Jess Burgess, CEE
Panelists: David Jacot, Director of Energy Efficiency, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power; Jim Jerozal, Managing Director Energy Efficiency, Nicor Gas; Siva Sethuraman, Commercial and Agriculture Portfolio Manager, Pacfic Gas and Electric Company
Supported by industry partners, CEE members have begun to deploy new technologies and product capabilities to serve broader program objectives, while providing greater value to their business customers. However, there remain important issues to resolve before these opportunities may be brought to scale, such as transaction costs and data security. During this session, panelists will speak to some of the ways that new data and communications capabilities embedded in end-use systems have the potential to enhance savings and enable new relationships between DSM programs and their business customers. Discussion topics will include: energy management information systems for strategic energy management and commercial whole buildings, feedback and controls as a retrofit opportunity, and the changing role of technology in business customer engagement. Panelists will address the role industry partners can play in supporting and complimenting these DSM program efforts now and in the future, to achieve greater market penetration and uptake of efficient products and services.
