What Does the "Customer of the Future" Look Like?

In this general session, CEE Director Daniel Rendler lead a panel of utility and indsutry leaders that address key questions and assumptions when it comes to future customer needs and expectations. The panel also addressed major trends that are having an impact on customers and the industries that serve them, such as the commercialization of connected products, valuing non-energy impacts of energy efficiency programs, changing utility business models, and emerging technologies enabling new efficiency opportunities.

CEE Director Daniel Rendler of Southern California Gas Company introduced the topic and panelists. Daniel's introduction is followed by presentations from panelists Liz VerShure (GE Appliances, a Haier Compnay), Kevin Bright (Duke Energy), Pekka Hakkarainen (Lutron Electronics), and Jeff Okrucky (Union Gas).

Not Just Specifications, North American Efficiency Partnerships

Specific examples to be highlighted include the Existing Homes Working Group (John Jones, BPI), compressed air system audits (Chris Johnson, CAGI), Lighting for Tomorrow Product Design Competition (Terry McGowan, American Lighting Association), and the HVAC Qaulity Installation Standard (Chandler von Schrader, US EPA).
