In support of the Commercial Kitchens Initiative, CEE produces quarterly Qualifying Product Lists to support program administrators in identifying models that perform at or above the levels defined by the CEE High Efficiency Specifications for Commercial Refrigerators and Freezers. From January 1, 2010 to October 1, 2014, the CEE and ENERGY STAR performance levels for commercial refrigerators and freezers were equivalent. As such, CEE did not maintain a separate qualifying products list. On October 1, 2014, the Version 3 ENERGY STAR specification took effect, which identifies a different level of efficiency than the current CEE specification. As such, CEE has created a separate qualifying products list to assist users in determining what models meet the specification.
