Tracking Market Shares of High Efficiency Measures in California' Sector (Abstract Only)

California's ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs are dedicated to transforming markets to a higher, sustainable level of energy efficiency. The evaluation of market transformation initiatives requires knowledge of baseline market conditions and changes relative to that baseline over time. This paper discusses the development and results to date of efficiency market share tracking efforts in California's residential sector, as well as lessons learned from this effort. (Abstract only)

This paper describes the effectiveness of California residential appliance energy efficiency standards, and the role of codes and standards (C&S) programs as a highly cost-effective component of a portfolio of energy efficiency programs. The methods and recommendations in this paper will apply to many other states and other efficiency program portfolios. (Abstract only)
