CEE Pre-Rinse Spary Valave Proposal Industry Comment Opportunity

The CEESM Commercial Kitchens Initiative aims to define highly efficient cooking, refrigeration, and sanitation equipment across the United States and Canadian markets based on voluntary equipment performance specifications determined by CEE member consensus and industry input. CEE is seeking feedback from commercial food service industry partners on proposed revisions to the CEESM Commercial Kitchens Initiative specification and strategy for pre-rinse spray valves (PRSVs).

The CEE Commercial Kitchens Committee is proposing sunsetting the CEE Commercial Pre-Rinse Spray Valve Specification, thereby discontinuing maintenance of the specification and qualified products list, and revising the Initiative to recommend that program administrators consider using PRSVs as an entry point to engage customers in energy efficiency. CEE respectfully requests industry partner comments on the proposal by July 31, 2020.* Following the completion of the industry review period, the Committee will consider the full slate of industry comments and determine whether to seek approval from the CEE Board of Directors to revise the Initiative strategy for PRSV and sunset the CEE PRSV specification in October 2020, or modify the proposal and seek additional industry input. If the specification were sunset, CEE would continue to host the specification and past qualified product lists on its public website for one year following public announcement of the Board’s decision to sunset.
