This study promotes the use of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on evaporator fans in refrigerated warehouse applications. The purpose of this report is to gain a better understanding of and overcome market barriers. It also looks at the potential of VFDs to become an industry standard. In order to evaluate this initiative, information was gathered from field trial data. Information was also gathered from interviews with field trial participants, vendors, contractors, facility owners, and operators.
